Can Cold Cause Inflamed Throat & Lumps In Back Of Mouth?

i recently went to the doctor last week and was told I had a lot of fluid in my ears and an inflamed throat and was told it was just a cold. 10 days later my throats stil is inflamed and i just noticed a pea size lump in the back of my mouth that aches when i press on it. Could it be part of the cold I was told I have?

Hi,
There are multiple lymphatic bands (immune system), in posterior pharyngeal wall (throat), these tissues enlarge whenever there's infection, don't worry it will subside on its own, mean time you can start salt water gargle (lukewarm water), if you have not started, and complete you medication course, take care.
