Can Colitis Be Due To Malaria Affected Earlier?

I got malaria while serving in the South Pacific in 1944. After being discharged in 1946, I wound up in the hospital in 1946 -1947. I WAS GIVEN CLORIQUINE. iN 1970 I GOT ULCERATIVE COLITIS. IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT MY COLITIS CAME AS RESULT OF THE MALARIA AND CLORIQUINE?
