Can Colon Cancer Cause Swollen Ankles And Weight Loss?

My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer which has now spread to her liver. Her ankles are swollen and she is losing weight rapidly. She eats very little and is having confusion with hallucinations..can you tell me if this is normal at the end of life?

Dear,
How can it be normal. If the life is coming to an end some failure in the body has to take place. Possibly due to the cancer spread in the liver she has landed in hypoproteinaemia giving rise to body edema. in this process most of the people die of cardiac arrest.
