Ct scan showed postoperative shanges prior to partial colon resection sigmoid area. I had sigmoid resection 3 yrs ago due to complicafed diverticulits with perforation of colon. Long family history of colon cancer, possibly lynch syndrome. Should I be concerned?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of sigmoid colon resection 3 years ago for complicated diverticulitis and perforation. There is a long family history of colon cancer, possibly Lynch syndrome. CT scan showed post-operative changes prior to partial colon resection of sigmoid area. This mean the rest of the major part of the large bowel is still present and one can have cancer in the remaining part. Review CT scan and colonoscopy will give the proper diagnosis and a plan for treatment.
