Can Combiflam Be Continued For Persistent Cold And Fever?
Hello, I have a 2 yr old son who has been having cold (thick whitish/yellowish discharge from nose) and intermittent fever (around 99-100 deg) for the past 2-3 months. Doctors have advised 5 ml of Combiflam syrup (5ml 3times a day) along with Cosyp (cough suppressant). Q: Even after 10-15 days, if the cold as well as fever continue, is it still safe to continue with combiflam for so many days?
Hello. Thanks for asking Healthcare Magic. Your son might have an upper respiratory tract infection. Combiflam contains ibuprofen which should not be continued for such a long period of time. i would suggest if the condition does not improve and the fever continues start with some appropriate antibiotic like amoxycillin 200mg/5ml. give 5ml thrice a day. i hope this helps. Thanks and regards.
