Can Conceiving After Miscarriage Cause Any Problem?
hi doctor,my first baby suspected to isovaleric acidemea by screening for inborn errors of metabolism by Tandem Mass Spectometry and coments that blood C5 carnitine is elivated suggestive of isovaleric acidemea.my baby died 13 days after birth.please advise is i can try for onether baby with out any treatment.
Isovaleric acidemia is an inherited condition and since your baby had it, it means both you and your partner are career of the gene that causes it. You have a 25% chance of having another baby with Isovaleric acidemia. That means there is 3 in 4 chance that the baby will be fine.
I would advise you to visit a genetic counsellor before you consider your next pregnancy. They can guide you regarding the implications of an affected pregnancy and also the tests you could take during your pregnancy Hope this helps Regards.
