I am on the 5th day free from taking my 21 day contraceptive pill, and used a canesten pessary (500mg) 4 days ago. Usually I would have experience a period by the 3rd or 4th day of my week free from the pill. Could the pessary have delayed or stopped my period in any way?
In my opinion, the cause for your delay is not the pessary but the infection you are suffering from. Infections can tamper with the menstrual cycle and the hormone levels, which can result in a delay in your period and a few other symptoms as well.
Please continue with the pessaries until the infection is adequately treated, and once the infection is gone I am sure your menstrual cycle will return to normal.
Best wishes.
