Can Copper T Cause Heavy Bleeding And Infection?

hi,I got copper T inserted 2 months back and during 1 periods i got pain in the area and bleeding was also more, i read in internet that it was normal to bleed more during my 2nd periods it is paining heavily and bleeding too much i dont know what to do??i get numbness in my legs, is it because of some infection? what do i need to do?? i went to one experienced doctor

Hello,

Excessive bleeding and pain are the side effects of copper T. Infection should also be ruled out with vaginal swab microscopy and culture. If bleeding is an issue, then alternate forms of contraception like Mirena IUD, birth control pills can be considered.
