Sometimes it may take a few months to get adjusted for intrauterine contraceptive devices like Copper T. During this period irregular periods can be seen. According to your history, possibly your menstrual flow got adjusted at 3 months. But intrauterine contraceptive devices can lead to pelvic infection sometimes.
So, the white discharge you mentioned could be physiological white discharge due to reproductive hormones effect or pathological discharge due to the presence of intrauterine contraceptive device with threads hanging in the vaginal canal.
If the discharge persists, better to get examined. By clinical examination and investigations like pap smear and vaginal swab culture and sensitivity, the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly. In case of pelvic infection both the partners should be treated simultaneously to prevent future cross infections.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
