Can Cough For A RHD Patient Causes Any Problem To The Heart Valve?

sir i m ajay and my wife(26) has rhd and she is suffering from cough from last 2-3 days now she is admitted in hospital and doctor has given her pipperacillin tazobactum injection through drip ...my question is that for how long this cough will be sustained and is there any danger on heart valve

Hi. Welcome to hcm. In rhd patients secondary prophylaxis of penicillin is very important to prevent further episodes of rheumatic fever. This will prevent further valve damage. See cardiologist for proper management of rhd. Routine cough will not affect valve. If you have any other query then ask. Take care.
