ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi....it is quite common to get dizziness, nausea and vomiting after the mastoidectomy operation. As after mastoidectomy, the semicircular canals ,the organ responsible for keeping ur balance gets exposed to the exterior. Any gush of ear, water can cause disequilibrium in the canals and so nausea and vomiting. I suggest u to keep a cotton ball in the operated ear while u r travelling and take tab cinnarzine 25mg (sturgeon ) three times daily for a few days till u feel alright. It is unlikely that the drum has got ruptured. Hope the above solves your query. Thanks n regards....Dr Nandu kolwadkar
