Can Cylindrical Power Go Unnoticed In Routine Check-ups?
hello sir/madam. i am 17 years old. my eye power was about -0.75 in the right eye and -1.75 in the left eye. just a few days back when i went for a check-up, the doctor told me that i need to wear glasses with cylindrical power.is it possible for someone to have cylindrical power which has gone unnoticed in the last 5- 6 eye check-ups?

Cylindrical power will cause astigmatism.
Astigmatism will cause symptoms of blurred vision and headache.
It can detected easily during refraction testing.
Hence it is not possible that your cylindrical power not getting detected in eye examination.
