Can Daily Dose Of Matrifur Be Given For Narrowing Of Urinary Tract?
dear drs, my mother age 75 suffering from narrowing of urinary tract. she was treated initially by inserting the urinary tube. later after removal she often gets urine infection. Doctor advised to treat it with long course of matrifur. She became alright. After a year or so she again gets the infection. Again doctor advises to give matrifur for 10 days during which she becomes alright, howe ever when ever she stops, immediately she gets the infection back. can we continue daily doses of matrifur ? How long this tab can be used continuously as she do not want to get treated with inserting tube again.

Your mother has bladder outlet obstruction,with recurrent urinary infection. She will need to do the following, to get the best advice,for treatment :
1. Get examined by an Urologist.
2. urine routine and culture.
3. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,platelets,and LFT.
4. ultrasound scan- KUB,with residual urine.
Till the urine culture reports are ready,she can use Matrifur safely.
