Can Darkness In The Peripheral Vision Be Treated?

My mom just had cataract surgery a week ago and her left eye was given a distance lens and right eye was for close up. The distance eye or left eye is dark on the edge or peripheral vision. She is really scared it won t go away. It s been one week. Can you help? Thank you! Jen

I would recommend a urgent retinal examination which will have your Retina as well as optic nerve examined because these two structures are responsible for peripheral vision and we need to find out where the cause is.
