Can Defroasted Chicken Cause Bloating And Vomiting?

Hi I defrosted a free- range chicken (6 mths in freezer approx.) and roasted it. It was cooked through maybe slightly pink around the legs which we didn't eat. Straight after eating we became very bloated and felt unwell. It continued through the night and several times we almost vomited...not so much feeling very nauseous more just so terribly bloated. It continued next day and returned to feeling very bloated whenever we ate. I was fine 1.5 days later but my husband ate a small piece of the chicken and felt quite ill again . He ate it as we just couldn't imagine the chicken was off!

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

From the clinical details you have given, its quiet obvious there is some problem(microbial contamination) in the chicken or the food you have taken that particular time.

This is called food poisoning If not treated which if not severe, the effects stay 1-2 days which include severe vomiting and bloating and also diarrhoea.

Hope this guides you.
Thank you.
