Can Delayed Periods After Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Intake Of Pill Cause Pregnancy?

My last menstrual cycle was march 20th and i had unprotected sex last april 10.i drank the 1st dose of the morning after pill 5hrs after sex then the 2nd dose 14hrs after. I still don t have my period. Im afraid that i did it wrong since it says there that i should drink it on my 1st day of menstrual cycle OR am I pregnant already?? Please help! I don t want to be pregnant! Today is april 12.

Hello,

Emergency pill gives more than 95% protection against unwanted pregnancy with above two doses when taking within first 24 hrs.

Most women get their withdrawal bleeding within 3 to 5 days. However, absence of bleeding doesn't mean that pill didn't work. It has same effectiveness as earlier.

You should wait for next coming period and if it is delayed more than 1 week, you must undergo one home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
