Can Diet And Exercise Alone Control High Blood Pressure?
I am a 36 year old male, married, non-smoker, non-drinker. I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and was refused because my BP was 155 over 103. I checked the following day and it was 149 over 90. Would diet and excercise alone be enough to control it or should I see my GP?
Yes lifestyle modifications do control Blood pressure in someyoung patients if followed properly which include 1. Brisk Daily morning walk for 45 mins a day for 5 days a week. 2. Reduction of dietary salt intake 3. Avoiding canned food and junk food and drinks containing caffeine. 4. Including good amount of fruits and green vegetables in daily diet.
It's advised to follow this routine for 3 months properly and then monitor Blood pressure. Even if it remains unchanged will I hope will not happen then you need to start some anti hypertensive medicine after consulting a cardiologist personally.
Wish you good health
