hello doc. i am 24 years old and i am having leucorrhea from last 8-10 years.recently i took 1 week antibiotic course 4 it.now it has reduced to 20%.i want to ask u about what food i should avoid and whether i should see the gynaecologist again? can it reoccur?my height is 5 ft n i weigh 65 kgs.
Greetings there, thank you for your question. I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. I know leucorrhoea is a disturbing condition for a lady which is compounded when it is recurrent or chronic. It can present alone or alongside other symptoms. Leucorrhoea can have many causes from poor personal hygiene such as the usage of medicated soaps for vaginal douche, assorted underwear, poor hygiene of underwear, Sexually transmissible infections, underlying conditions such as diabetes and others. The fact that the leucorrhoea reduced by 20% after a week's course of antibiotics means it is probably of bacterial origin. I would advice you to visit your gynaecologist so he can examine you and carryout necessary paraclinical exams and prescribe the right medication. I also would advice you loose some weight as 65kg is a above the ideal weight for your height which can also be a factor in favour of the recurrence of the leucorrhoea. I wish you a quick recovery. Kind Regards
hello dear, i can understant ur problem, for some people leucorrhea is physiological, becoz of hormonal fluctuation in female body, if u have discharge which smells, associated with itching then u need to be worried....then u need to visit gynecologist...she will examine u and she will take high vaginal swab, which shows what type of bacteria u have and for which antibiotic it is sensitive.....and please do a blood sugar level...diabetic people tend to have recurent vaginal discharge...hope i cleared ur answer...have a goo day..
