Steroid withdrawal effects can take 4 to 6 weeks to reduce since the body needs to adjust to the absence of steroid level in the body.
Gradual tapering of the drug by reducing the dose and duration slowly can prevent the withdrawal symptoms.Any other causes of weight loss such as chronic infections should be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
