Can Draining/removing Longstanding Ganglion Relieve Pain In Arms And Fingers?

I have had a ganglion cyst in my wrist for almost a year now. It is a pretty good sized cyst. The pain has become pretty unbearable and I am having to go meet with a surgeon to determine whether it needs to be drained or removed. I have a constant sharp throbbing pain throughout my arm and fingers. It has become difficult to use my hand and move it certain directions. It locks up and tightens constantly and has a very sharp pain. I am pretty nervous and thought I d ask a doctor before I d go see him whether they thought it d be drained or need to be removed

the treatment option for ganglion is aspiration /injection and surgical removal.but the aspiration is done in sessions depending on the amount of fluid and extent of ganglion.and still the chances of recurrence is high in aspiration as compared to surgical removal so in my openion it need to be removed surgically and yes it will help relieving pain n improving life style.
