Can Drinking Leads To Weakness And Light Feeling In Arm And Legs?

Hi doctor , my names paddy, I'm 32 , I feel weak after a night out of drinking bitter, the weakness is a light feeling in my arms and legs, it sends me into a bit of a panic . Could you plse tell me if this is worrying for me am I drinking too much or should I not drink at all ? Thanks for your time...

Hi Paddy,

If this is the only symptom that you have noticed, then just cutting down on the amount of alcohol will solve your problem as the unsteadiness is due to excess alcohol content in the blood. You need not give up alcohol completely. Just take care to ensure that you cut down on the total amount of alcohol you drink in a night out and also try to increase the time gap between two successive drinks. You will notice that this will reduce your discomfort as well as reduce hang over, if you have any.
