Can Dry Blood In The Ear Indicate Any Damage In Eardrum After Injury?

My 2 year old son poked his ear with a Q-tip lastnight and cried for about 5 minutes i checked his ear and didnt see nothing but this morning as i was taking him a bath and touched his ear he said it hurt so when i looked he has dry blood in his ear why is there blood could he have damaged his eardrum
