Can Dryness And Pressure In The Ears Be Something Besides An Ear Infection?

I have dryness inside my ear way down deep, seems to be a lot of fluid following sinus pressure. For two day I feel like my ear is going to bust from so much pressure. A lot of pain. This is the 3rd time this has happened in a few months. The 1st 2 times Dr diagnosed with ear infection, but this always happens after the dry patches inside my ear seems to swell, itch, and burn. Can it be something besides an ear infection?

Hi,

You may be suffering from a bilateral middle ear infection or eustachian tube block or retracted tympanic membrane etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pantoprazole and tablet Sinarest.

Avoid cool drinks and cold water and quit smoking.

Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
