Hi Sir, I m male 18 yrs old and I would like to get my ear pierced but I have Keloid, one where i had a small surgery to remove another skin problem and the other i got a deep cut from a razor on my right shoulder when i was having a haircut. I don t want to get it on my ear so i did some research online and some nurses said I should consult a doctor. Can you give me some advice? Thank you

Hi,

Having keloid is a relative contraindication to ear piercing. It is relative because the chances of occurence of keloid at the site of ear piercing is relatively higher then those who do not have keloid. So personally I do not suggest my patients to undergo any kind of piercing if they had keloidal tendency.

Hope it helps. If you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact again.
