Neurologist 's  Response
I read your question and I understand your concern.

I wish I could give you a definitive answer on your question, but unfortunately you can't know for sure. Some people are well controlled and seizure free with one drug, some need two drugs while some others keep having seizures with no improvement from drugs. Of course to make a prediction it would be helpful to know the cause (if you had a trauma, tumor, infection, stroke and so on, MRI results, EEG report.

If Depakin isn't having the desired effect even at higher doses there are other drugs which can be tried alone or in combination with Depakin so you shouldn't give up. Their choice depends on factors like the type of seizure, EEG changes, possible side effects etc. so you should discuss any change in therapy with your neurologist.

I hope to have been of help.
