Can Excess Eating And Weight Gain Cause Shortness Of Breath?

Hello. My name is Terri and I am going to be 55 in September. I eat very well, including green smoothies each morning and I am active 7 days a week. I have not even had a cold in about 6.5 years. On June 9th and 10th I had my teeth scaled and I thought it may have had something to do with my symptoms, but I think I have some sort of digestive problem. I was always oprox. 133 pounds and in the beginning of the year I quit smoking for the second time. I began to eat more and I reached 140 pounds and started to feel really bloated and on June 15th I ate so much that I got shortness of breath and a really weird gurgling noise in my stomach and throat. It has been about 40 days now and I m now 129 pounds. I lost 11 pounds but the noise is still very loud in my throat and stomach, and the shortness of breath is not near as bad. I was told to take Lansoprasole by a pharmasist and I took them for aprox. 13 days and all symptoms went away. I started eating like I use to and gained 3 pounds back and drank Rum and diet cokes because I felt really good.4 days later it came back, and I also get full very quickly now. I ve been taking some Licorice Root and Digest Gold along with the Lansoprasole and I ve been trying to stay as alkaline as possible. I have no health care insurance at this time and I am currently unemployed ,so I ve been trying to beat this on my own. I am into alternative remedies and do alot of reading on all tpyes of health issues, because my brother has bladder cancer. They told him he had aprox. 6 months to live 3 and a half years ago, and he s doing pretty good right now. I realize I should have a doctor check me out but I ve been through this once before about 5 years ago, and I saw a doctor a dozen times and he did nothing for me. I went to Walmart and a lady to me to get some Licorice Root and some digestive enzymes and I was cured in 5 days and it has never come back. Do you think gaining the weight and over eating caused this? What do you think Doc... can you suggest anything? Sincerely, Terri.

seems like a lot of your problems are related to your anxiety including weight gain. its normal to have regurge and shortness of breath with weight gain, but you could also have shortness of breath due to your anxiety. All you need to do is adopt some relaxation techniques into your lifestyle including yoga or meditation so that you can stay calm in the face of your current challenges. other than that you can keep your diet such that its not all protien, all protein diet causes acidity, and acidity coupled with weight gain can cause regurge at night which can cause respiratory symptoms.
