Can Excessive Work On Computer Cause Flashes In Vision?
Hi, I am having difficulty seeing this. I had lunch at 11:30, then when I came back to work I noticed flashing lights in the center of my vision making it difficult to see my computer screen. There is a large area of flashing lights, and they are still there when I close my eyes. It actually seems to have moved to the upper right side of my vision. I am 56 year old female, no health issues, and work on computer all day. Thank you.

Excessive work on computer are known to cause dryness of eyes. Flashes of vision is not related to work on computer. It indicates some problem in the retina or vitreous in the posterior part of the eye. The commonest cause being age related changes in the vitreous a liquid gel inside the eye.
Since the age of yours is 56 this requires further examination by a ophthalmologist. You need to undergo fundus examination by a simple procedure called as ophthalmoscopy to find out the cause and treatment accordingly.
