Can Exercising Cause Delay In Periods?

I dont know if I am pregnant. I was with my boyfriend October 4 and he ejaculated on his stomach. From what I can remember, neither of us touched it. But if one of us had touched the sperm, and then fingered me, could I get pregnant? I know it was dry and had to of been more than 7-10 minutes. Ive done research, and it says that exercise can off set you regular menstrual cycle. Which I recently started exercising at least 6 hours a week, where i was only doing 1-2 hours 2 months ago.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Missed periods should be evaluated initially for any hormonal imbalance or Polycystic ovarian disease(PCOS).

I advise you to get an Ultrasound abdomen immediately to look for the above.

I generally advise my patient's oral tablets of Progesterone 10 mg for 5 days to regularize periods. So please check with your doctor whether she prescribes the same.

These drugs should be taken only after getting evaluated through ultrasound abdomen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
