Can Eyes Which Was Operated Earlier For Cataract Be Operated Again For Putting Good Lens? Time Gap For Operation?

Hi, My dad was operated for Cataract for 1 eye 1.5 years back and now we are planning for 2nd eye probably this winter.
It seems that Lens used for 1 eye operated was a local and bad quality lense.
Can the eye which has been operated once can be operated again and lense replaced with good quality lense, if yes how much time gap to be observed between the 1st operation and the repeat operation.

Dear
If he seeing well and has no visual complains so far I would not advice explantation of the lens & reinserting a new one. If he is having a layer behind his lens which is causing him poor vision(the fact you r saying it's bad quality), just have an Nd:YAG laser done.
