Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! You statement is quite true. There exists the entity of pseudo high BP regarding office BP measurement (inside a medical office), as well as ambulatory. To be sure you don't really suffer from hypertension, it is necessary to monitor your BP in an alternative relaxing environment that doesn't impose fear or stress to you. That would bring more objective data regarding your BP values. Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
It is known as White coat fever and is a well know and genuine issue commonly observed in clinics. What happens is when a patient looks at a doctor or a nurse patients Blood pressure shoots up. But after sometime it comes back to normal.
You may have to reassure yourself that nothing is going to be wrong and your physician will also help you in this regard.
Sleeing person's blood pressure is always a bit low no matter he has white coat anxiety or not. We all have a bit low blood pressure when sleeping.
Hope it helps.
Regards! DR.HANIF USA
