I ve dealt with chronic pain at the base of my spine, most of my life. I have been seen by many surgeons. The last one in Florida was referred to me by my pain specialist. He was hoping he could insert a screw to relieve the pain. I guess I should have mentioned, I have stenosis , an a pinched nerve somewhere below L5. After doing a more extensive MRI, this surgeon told me he wouldn t attempt it because he was afraid he would paralyze me. So I had injections done every 3 months. Didn t help much because my Md said he could only inject around the area. I know laser surgeries have advanced since I was seen there (2004) I was wondering if it was worth seeing a specialist at this time. I also have a new MRI on a CD and was told my T12 is fractured so my pain specialist wants me to see a surgeon for possible glueing? I was hoping you could suggest a surgeon who could help me.
