Can Frequent Use Of Emergency Contraception Delay Periods Despite Negative Pregnancy Tests?
Hi Dr My wife had took 3 times ipill in last 2-3 months last time on 23 September after that she had periods on 1 October her previous date was 7 September but since 1 October her periods hasn t come yet and we didn t had any intercourse in between and never unprotected we did pregnancy test and it s negative so can you please explain what could be the cause is it because ipills?
It is likely that hormonal imbalance is causing her symptoms. She should get well after a couple of days as the body adjusts with the hormonal alterations due to I-pill intake. She should take home made food rich in minerals and protein. Take iron supplements or take iron rich food. Maintain healthy weight and avoid sedentary lifestyle.
Avoid anxiety and stress (emotional or physical). Help her stay relaxed. If she is getting too restless then get her clinically examined by a gynecologist, to rule out ectopic pregnancy / pregnancy or to detect PID, PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, anemia or any other pathology causing her symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
