Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with frontal atrophy @ the age of 15ms: query history of NICU stay for over a month when she was 2wks old. Now she has mild physical developmental delay yet major speech developmental delay. Her recessive language is unpredictable in two languages yet very poor on expressive language. She has been getting OT, PT and speech therapy since she was 1,5. The improvement is is very slow. What is the connection, if there is any, between frontal atrophy to developmental delay.

Can Frontal Atrophy Cause Developmental Delay?
Thanks for the query. The frontal lobe of the brain plays a key role in higher mental functions such as speech production, motivation, planning, social behaviour. Thus frontal lobe if does not work properly may lead to developmental delay. Hope i helped you.
