Can Genital Herpes Be Transmitted From Parents To Child Through Genetics?

Me and my partner both have genital herpes. My daughter is three years old and has pubic hair growing early. Today I took my daughter to the ped because she is constantly scratching in this area which does break her out and this s causes bruising. We saw a different ped today because ours was full the new ped decicded that it looked as though my daughter might have been molested because of the constant scratching and did a rape kit. She says she did the rape kit because me and my partner both have genital herpes. Could my child have genital herpes because we both have it through genetics.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

The most likely explanation for her itching and scratching is a vaginal yeast infection. Also, HSV virus requires direct contact for transmission. Assuming that there has been no sexual contact (I am sorry that you had to go through this), then there should be nothing to worry about. It is not transmitted through genetics, only through direct contact with an infected person.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
