Can Gripe Water Be Given For Colic Pain While Having Cough And Nasal Congestion?

I had a c section on 27th October,17 and my baby s weight was 2.8 kgs. For the first 2 days my baby was given farex stage 1. Later I fed her BM but from last few days I m giving her farex once . I m noticing that she is passing lots of gas and having difficulty passing stool. Couldn t find out what is the reason? Is the formula milk? Thinking of giving her Woodward s gripe water but doctors are not approving. Can I please suggest which formula for is best. And can I use gripe water if baby cries due to colic pain. Also my baby is having a stuffy nose due to cough. What can I do? Please help. Thanks in advance

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Don't give Gripe water. It causes burning micturition, it contains alcohol. So please avoid.

Mother's milk is best milk. if your milk is inadequate, then you can give formula feed like Nanpro/Similac/Lactogen/Farex stage 1 with proper dilution.

After feeding, allow him for burping.

For colic pain just give Colicaid/Colimex drops.

For stuffy nose give Nasivion/Nasoclear nasal drops.
