Can Hair Dye Cause Swelling In Face And Eyes?

I have always dyed my hair 3 days ago I got it bleached and toned to a lighter color and woke up with half of my face swollen went to the doctor they gave me two shots but now my eye is swollen ? I read about ppd but it s only found in dark dyes. I am in no pain and idk if I should go to the emergency room

Hello,
I can understand your concern for swelling in face and eyes after the use of hair dye. It appears from your query that you have got contact irritant dermatitis due to the hair dye which is causing the main problem of swelling and irritation of face.
In your kind of cases it is quite helpful if a steroid cream is applied over the affected area. A course of oral steroids is quite helpful to reduce the swelling. An antihistamine can be taken to reduce the irritation at the affected area.
