Can Hardness And Bloating In Abdomen With Delayed Period Indicate Pregnancy?
On the 17th of may I had a medical abortion at 6 weeks (It was incredibly hard thing for me to do but I do not have the money, steady relationship or the health at the moment to support/raise or carry a child). Exactly 1 month later after the abortion (17th of May) me and my partner attempted sex again. I think it may have been too soon but he couldn t fit inside me, there was a small amount of blood and I was in a little pain for a few days (sorry for the details) we were using a condom but there was a lot of fooling around. It is now the 29th of May and I am yet to have a period. My lower abdomen is rock solid and I m looking pretty bloated, could I possible be pregnant? Other than the hardness/ swelling i feel nothing...no pregnancy symptoms, no period cramps nothing.
Hello, thanks for writing to HCM. After an abortion, the body takes a variable time to come back to its pre-pregnancy status, hence it might take about 3-6 weeks, for your periods to return. In some ovulation maybe earlier or later than this as well. The hard swelling of abdomen is not a very sensitive or specific sign for a pregnancy. You can try taking a home pregnancy test first. in cases where the pregnancy test is unreliable / periods are irregular or delayed, you can go in for an ultrasound to check the uterus and ovaries, as well as check for a products of conception. Hope this is helpful. Take care.
