Can Having Hysterectomy Be Safe For Retroverted Uterus And Cyst In Left Ovary?

I have been diagnosed with a 7cm cyst on my left ovary I had a blood test and it is not cancerous, but have been told it will be removed. I also have thickened lining of the uterus and am waiting to see a gynaecologist to have a uterine cancer test which I think will be a biopsy? I have also have a retroverted uterus, and get irritable bowel and have to be careful what I eat so I keep this under control particularly when my blood flow is very very heavy, (I don t know if all this is connected). I have been having terrible period pains now for well over a year and bleeding is continuous and only stops for a few days a month. I am 48 years old. I used to have the myrena coil for about 10 years but insertion and removal was always difficult and the last time they tried unsuccessfully so I don t have any contraception at the moment. I am really fed up and would like to have a hysterectomy, do you think this would be the answer? Many thanks, Diane
