Can Heavy Bleeding Be Expected After Mirena Coil Removal?

I am 57 and had a merina coil inserted in 2004 because of heavy periods (I was sterilised 6 years ealier) on thursday I had my coil removed & discussed my concerns about returning to the heavy periods, but the Dr thought this unlikely. I am now having a period, should I worry, or just see how it goes?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by coil. Wait and watch for the same.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
