This may be a stupid question but.... If I have high cholesterol, should I not eat pizza? I love pizza, but I don t eat it as much as I used to. Every once in a while I crave it, but I just found out that I have high cholesterol. Does it affect my cholesterol? I only have it maybe once a month. BTW.. I may have high cholesterol because of eating so many eggs, plus it runs in my family.
Hyperlipidemia, or high cholesterol, almost always is genetic. You mention that it runs in your family.
Eating pizza or not eating it is not going to make your cholesterol go away, it sure doesn't help it if you eat it.
Now, in moderation, it cannot be that harmful.
In younger population, modifying what they eat is not as essential as in older, although only 10% of cholesterol is taken in, foods, but 90% of it is what your liver produces.
Talk to your doctor see if it is necessary for you to be on medication. If you are an adult heart scanning may be a good way to determine if you have coronary artery disease or not. If you don't who cares if you have high cholesterol or not.
Hi,Samantha,
Thanks for query,
Nothing to worry, once in a while you can take pizza,
If you are taking 2-3 times in a week it is mot advisable.
If you take pizza, avoid some other fat containing stuff that day.
But mind well, do not forget to send pizza to me !
Ok and bye.
