Can Hip Replacement Help To Walk Normally After Avascular Necrosis?

Hello, I had surgery on my hip 2 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis and a rod was placed in the hip to correct the problem.. The pain went away for a couple of moths but returned.. I have severe pain when I sleep, it is still painful to walk and exercise and the pain is prevelent in the knee that the hip surgery was done,, Is it possible that I may have to have a full hip replacement and will that allow me to walk normal and return to normal activities
