Can Hypothyroidism Cause Recurrent Shingles?

I am wondering if there is any relationship between low thyroid function and shingles. I have had 3 outbreaks of shingles in 4 years----2 after taking the shingles vaccine and always associated with stress as pre surgery, anxiety over foreign travel etc. I have always been diagnosed with shingles before they became painful...just itchiness and a tiny amount of pain. Anyway, it seems that thyroid disease is often treated very casually and I wonder if there could be a link between it and shingles....lack of enough iodine in the American diet etc.

Hi dear
As such there is no reported direct connection between hypothyroidism and shingles but the recurrent attacks of shingles in your case indicate towards your poor immunity status or your habit of taking excessive stress.
