Can I Do Masturbation While Taking NGU Medication?
I was recently diagnosed with NGU and given medication to take for it. After taking the meds and before leaving I was told to avoid sexual activity for seven to ten days. Does this include masturbation and if so will masturbating hinder or stop the meds from taking effect?

Non gonococcal urethritis is a sexually transmitted disease, it can be transmitted only through sexual intercourse which may be vaginal, anal or oral. Therefore, question of transmitting the disease to some one through masturbation does not arise. Your doctor has prevented you from sexual activity for 7-10 days, so that you do not transmit the disease to some one else. Sexual activity does not have any effect on the activity / effectiveness of medicines being used for treatment of GNU.

You were advised to avoid the sexual activity, so that you should not get any additional infection from your partner and also your partner does not get any infection of NGU from you. Otherwise, sexual activity does not has any effect on the efficacy of the drugs prescribed to you for the treatment of NGU, which includes masturbation also. However, it is always better, if we treat the other partner also simultaneously, if suspected of infection.
