Can I Get Pregnant Post Unprotected Sex Despite Being On Depo?

Okay so i was on the copper iud for 4 years. The same day i got it removed i got on the depo. The doctor did say to use preotection, which i did not and he did ejaculate in me every time (not smart of me) which was about every night for the 2 weeks i was supposed to use back up. It has been a month already and i keep bleeding on and off but only when i wipe. I took about 3 pregnancy test about a week or two ago and they all came out negative. Is there a chance i am pregnant and took the test too early and has this happened to anyone else? I really need help and can t wait for this doctors appointment any longer.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Protection is advised initially as we need to give the depo some time before it starts working. Yes, I would also say that the pregnancy test may have been taken too early so please do take another pregnancy test using an early morning sample of your urine at least 2 weeks after your last unprotected sexual contact.

If you are lucky, the depo would have initiated action and prevented pregnancy. Hope this helps.
