Can I Get Pregnant Post Unprotected Sex Despite Missing A Birth Control Pill?
Hello I was hoping to get some feed back from a gynecologist.. I had unprotected sex on Friday through the weekend ( til Sunday morning) hoping to take plan b. However my period came Tuesday. Someone told me it's impossible for me to get pregnant while I have my period now but others tell me otherwise . I feel as though since it's been 5 days it's too late to take the plan b. However I been catching fears since I been feeling nausea for the past couple days .. Is it possible I'm pregnant ?
I have gone through your problem. You seem to be unnecessarily under stress.
If you are in menses, the probability of pregnancy is almost nil. The nausea could be due to any other reason like food indigestion, stress, etc. However, if you want the confirmation, please wait for 8-10 days from the first day of the menses and then get urine pregnancy test and/or ultrasonography performed.
Agreed, the birth control pills should start from the 2nd day of menses; still, it is welcome and better to start them on 5th day. At least you would make a start. In addition, please use some additional protection like condom (male or female). Then from the next cycle, start the new pack on the 2nd day of menses.
I hope, you got the answer.
Please do not forget to start birth control pills.
