Can I Get Pregnant Post Unprotected Sex Despite Missing A Birth Control Pill?
Hi I have been taking mercilon pill for 1year and just last month my period seems shorter like only 1day and a half instead of three days, while this month there is none. Although I have taken pills everyday but miss one and I dont take it at the same time. Is there a huge chance of pregnancy?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Not taking the oral contraceptive pills regularly at the same time of the day and missing pill in between decrease the contraceptive efficacy of the pills and can lead to pregnancy. However, irregular menstrual period can also be due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease. I would suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done, if negative then do consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated( including hormonal profile) and get treated accordingly.
