Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain hydrocodone/
acetaminophen combination can be given after
oral surgery or any other surgical procedure for pain relief as it is used to treat moderate to
severe pain as Hydrocodone is a
narcotic painkiller and acetaminophen increases its activity..
As you have not given the name of the new painkiller prescribed to him by another surgeon I cannot exactly tell you about it as different drugs can interact with each other when given together so it will be better to consult the doctor before giving the new painkiller and tell about giving hydrocodone and acetaminophen combination..
But I can explain you that you do not need a lot of different painkillers and you can continue with Hydrocodone and acetaminophen combination as it is sufficient and efficient in treating pain after surgery...
You can continue with it for a period of 7 days along with it you also need to take an antibiotic like
Amoxicillin or Augmentin
After 7 days consult your treating surgeon and get a checkup done and further requirement of medicine will be advised accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
