Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hello, I would suggest monitoring his temperature and giving Tylenol dosed for his weight, if the fever is more than 101. For fevers lasting more than one day, please seek an appointment with the pediatrician.
Levolin is a drug used to open the airways of asthmatics when they are wheezing. During viral or bacterial respiratory illnesses, an asthmatic can worsen and levolin and possibly steroids are administered.
Triaminic can help with nasal congestion but is not indicated if the cough is due to asthma. Your son should respond to the levolin within one hour and have less cough with the medication if there is wheezing.
My practice is a pediatric pulmonary practice and accepts telephone consultations. If you can fax me more information, questions at 858 259 9689, along with your insurance card, I will give you a call to discuss further. The billing will only go to your insurance company and not to you.
Thank you for your questions.
