Can I Take Bendryl Instead Of Prednisone For Eczema?

I seem to have eczema on my hands, I just finished a 6 day round of prednisone that seemed to help. When I stopped taking prednisone the itch and redness came back. I also seem to have some burning in feet and tenderness. I d rather not go back on prednisone. Can I take Bendryl instead.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Prednisolone is a steroid which should not be taken for prolonged duration. You could take benadryl which is antihistamine which will give you relief from itching. You could also use a topical steroid containing cream like fluticasone or mometasone for 2-3 weeks for the itching and eczema to settle down. Following that, use a thick moisturiser every 3-4 hours to prevent recurrence of hand eczema.
Avoid all triggers known to flare eczema like soaps and detergents.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
