Can I Use Metronidazole Gel For Intravaginal Use During Periods?

Can you use metronidazole gel for intravaginal use while on your period? Also will it make your period appear to be darker than normal? Last question on 2 of my days I only took half the dosage which was just half way filled applicator instead of full I should be done today as yesterday was my 5th day should I use it one more time to make up for the 2 half dosages problem is I started my period

Hello,
Yes. You should use the Metronidazole vaginal gel during your menstrual period.
Avoid having sex until your vaginal infection has been completely treated and you have finished using the medication.
Avoid using other vaginal creams or douches at the same time as metronidazole vaginal.
You have darkened and thick discharge while using Metronidazole vaginal gel.
Use each applicator only once, and then throw it away.
To help clear up your infection completely, it is very important that you keep using this medicine for the full time of treatment, even if your symptoms begin to clear up after a few days. If you stop using this medicine too soon, your symptoms may return. Do not miss any doses.
